Shame on 60 Minutes...

Shame on 60 Minutes... Shame on CBS... and Shame on us for putting up with this...

I'm accountable for my actions. I earn my Commission. I tell my clients the truth. I'm a Libra. I expect news magazine format shows like 60 minutes to be the same. Be accountable. Earn your viewers. Tell us the truth.

I have no issue with commissions being negotiable. The average realtor should make less commission... they do a lot less work... and get less desireable results. What hacks me off is that I pay them (other realtors) 3% on a Co-op... and they want to pay me less than that when I sell one of their homes. Why... because they are too lazy... or too dumb... or too cheap... to do what it takes... to earn a 6% commission. I do everything I can think of to make my listings more desireable... including paying a 3% buyer's broker commission. My clients take the commission into consideration when deciding what price they will accept... and make decisions they are happy with. My clients walk away from the transaction with a smile on their face... and more money in their pocket.

It cost's more to do our business today than it ever has. Gasoline, Advertising, Insurance, Taxes, Equipment, Supplies, Paper, Printer Cartridges... and I'm charging the same percentage I did when I got my first license in 1983. I'm proud of my contribution. I'm proud of our Industry. Yes we need to always strive to be better... and my comments about the Average Realtor should not be taken to mean anything except the truth. The scarry part is the Average Doctor is likely to kill you. I don't deal in Average. I don't believe in the word enough. Enough is never enough... except for this acceptace of innacurate reporting. I've had enough of that for sure. If you agree... send 60 Minutes an email... at 60M@cbsnews.com. Tell them we expect the unbiased truth... and we are embarrased for them

Paul Guess is truely an inspiration and mentor. Success in real estate, and most everything else, is the result of a three-part process
1. Devise a plan.
2. Move forward.
3. Do it now.

And I'm ready thanks to you!

Paul,
I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate that you are so committed and ethical with regard to your work and your life in general. Your sharing this with so many students will hopefully aspire them to do the same. And, maybe someday real estate agents won't have such a bad name. Thank you for being so committed and passionate about teaching us all you know to help us succeed.

May God bless you and all that you do.

Hi Paul:
I thank God I even met you. I benefitted enormously not only on Pratice Principles but also from your actual success stories, frustrastions and challenges. I wish I could emulate them as I start becoming a member of the profession. More power to you.

Paul guess knows his stuff!
I have learned sooo much in his class, and his methods of teaching are compatible for any student new to real estate-such as myself, to understand. He is definitely a unique teacher and broker as well. He is not afraid to say what is on his mind, and does not let anything stop him from saying it-even an offer. I definitely admire his words of wisdom over the course of the semester and will look forward to having him in the future.

Hi Paul,
You are truly an inspiration to me and you set the minimum standard for the kind of agent I strive to be. Thank you for reminding me to always have a positive outlook and for being the "mentor" that I need.

Paul,

Thanks for giving me such a memorable semester. Good luck in your retirement in teaching, although I don't think that you will be retired for long. I will definitely be taking you up on your offer to be one of my mentors.

'Till we meet again...
